We probably owe more to the Dynasty Warriors series than they get credit for. Seriously, these games never seems to get the spotlight but they set the standard for hack and slash games. They defined the horde of enemies style and were a lot of fun to boot. But I'm getting ahead of myself RWBY is (probably) the second most well known Rooster Teeth series. An anime styled show made in Poser of all things. The series is know for its large diverse cast and over the top fights. RWBY Grimm Elcipse then is a hack and slash where you and up to 3 others fight and shoot your way through hordes of enemies while a basic plot gives it all context. The merging of these two styles of entertainment would be crazy if the Zelda series hadn't done it as well. You go through the levels as one of four(eight if you have the dlc) characters.
